WTEN | Kozyreva Wins Again, Moves to Finals

Mariia Kozyreva won her sixth singles match of the ITA Regionals to move to the championship round on Tuesday.
STANFORD, Calif. — Mariia Kozyreva will play in the finals round of the ITA Regionals tomorrow after picking up another win on Monday.
Kozyreva, the No. 68 player in the country, defeated Washington's Katarina Kopcalic in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. The Gaels' junior is now 6-0 at the ITA Regionals and all six of her wins have come in straight sets. Kozyreva has only surrendered more than three games in a set once during the tournament.
Tomorrow, Kozyreva faces off with No. 6 Michaela Gordon from Stanford in the finals. Gordon defeated Valentina Ivanov from Cal, 6-4 7-5 to advance to the championship. The match begins at noon.
