

MT&F | Strong Performances Lead Gaels to Place Third at Golden Gate Track Fest

SAN FRANCISCO — Saint Mary's men's track and field competed at the Golden Gate Track Fest, finishing third out of ten teams with multiple first-place and personal best finishes.
In the 800m, Spencer Wirshing led the way for the Gaels, winning the event in 1:52.64. The junior now holds the fourth, seventh, and ninth fastest times in the event in program history. Following him across the finish line was Alan Solari, who finished second overall with his personal best time of 1:52.65. His finish places him eighth all-time in program history. Jason Habash finished right behind them in third place in 1:53.20. Crossing the finish line in seventh overall was Noah Pagaran, who earned his best time of 1:55.12.
Saint Mary's also saw success in the 1500 meters, with three Gaels taking first, second, and third place. Senior Anthony Erikson placed first with his personal best time in the event, finishing in 3:52.52. Next in were Oisin Spillane and Jacob Moffet, who also earned their personal best times of 3:53.67 and 3:55.51, respectively.
Leading the way in the 3000m was freshman Anthony Sharp, who took sixth place in his best time of 8:40.31. Senior Eric Martinez clocked in at 8:46.89 to take seventh place. Also earning personal bests in the event were Jacob Schuetze (9:00.57), Andrew Perez (9:09.57), Aiden Tarantino (9:15.95), and Connor McGhee (9:22.15).
Wirshing, Pagaran, Habash, and Solari took first place in the 4x400 meter relay 3:25.50, the second-best time in program history.
The Gaels will look to carry this momentum into their next meet on Saturday, March 14 at the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic.
