SB | Buckley Returns to D1 Softball Mid-Major D100 Mid-Major Player Rankings at #66

MORAGA, Calif. — For the second straight season, Saint Mary's infielder Sam Buckley has been named to the D1 Softball Mid-Major D100 Mid-Major Player Rankings, coming in at 66th. The Mid-Major D100 aims to recognize the best players outside the P4 conferences. Freshmen are not eligible for the rankings, but any other player currently on a non-P4 team is eligible including transfers. The Mid-Major D100 is a true top 100 and there are no ties.
Buckley was named 98th on the first ever D100 Mid-Major Player Rankings, released in July following the end of the 2025 campaign. In this year's preseason list, the now junior is one of two WCC student-athletes to appear on the list, joining defending WCC Player of the Year Cairah Curran of Santa Clara (71st). Last year, Buckley set the program single season home run, RBI and run scored records, en route to leading the Gaels to their second straight WCC Title. She is just eight home runs shy of setting the program career home run record.
Buckley and the Gaels will open up their season on February 6 at the NorCal Kickoff at Sacramento State.
