AS A FRESHMAN (2023): Started the season as the team's primary shortstop and played in 35 games, making 24 starts before injuries affected her season...hit .179 in her first season, with six runs batted in, but hit .233 through the first month of the season...notched her first collegiate hit against Hawaii on February 11...her first multi-hit game came at home against UC San Diego on February 19...her first double as a Gael came on April 16 in conference play against Santa Clara.
PRIOR TO SAINT MARY'S: Graduate of Watsonville High School...Gomez has lettered in both softball and basketball, but is choosing to continue her softball career for the Gaels...her average has climbed from her freshman year (.283) to her junior campaign (.571), and that led her to First Team All-League honors last season...the Wildcatz also took home the CCS Division 1 championship with Gomez playing a crucial role in that championship run.
